new smashbox goodies

I've been so awful about sharing new beauty finds lately but these Smashbox products I got my hands recently are too good not to gab about:

This under eye brightener is my new favorite product. I apply it underneath my concealer and the brightening effect is great. The consistency is creamy and very light. You could even use it as a highlighter on cheek bones, the peachy shimmer is gorgeous.

I'm head-over-heels for this eyeliner, not only because it has a built-in sharpener (finally!) but because it's so wonderful for use on your water-line. It's incredibly long-wearing and waterproof, but glides on easy and smudges for an effortless smokey eye.

This was my first Smashbox mascara and their Hyperlash didn't disappoint. The brush is actually a brush and comb in one. I've been using the regular brush side for everyday and reapplying with the comb for more drama at night.

This is my second bottle of Smashbox's Photo Finish Lid Primer and won't be my last. It's a great, universal beige and it does exactly what it claims to: increases the longevity of your shadow, evens tone, and prevents creasing. I'd definitely recommend this one.

If you've been reading my reviews for a while, you probably know I'm hesitant to buy palettes. I feel like for a lot of people they can be a great value, but because I'm so picky, I often only use 1 or 2 shades from a set. Well, this palette totally changed my mind. I love every single one! The shades are quite different from the photo on the box but nonetheless, gorgeous. Fizz (a sparkly, but subtle champagne) and Minx (a purply gray shade) have become my everyday favorites.

Have you tried any of these Smashbox products? What are your favorites from their collection? I can't wait to try more!

smashbox goodies

Happy Thursday! This afternoon I'm sharing some photos and reviews for two of my new favorite products from Smashbox.
I'll start with the Smashbox SoftBox Eyeshadow Palette ($42). I own a multitude of neutral palettes but this 6-shade selection takes the cake. First off, the textures are fabulous! The Photo Op shadows that make up this palette, in my opinion, are like a comprise between a powder and creme (which means super long lasting and pigmented color). Plus it contains a great mix of matte and shimmer shadows, so there are a ton of looks to be made and it's great for travel. The lightest color (lower left) is perfect to highlight and for use in the inner lash for that 'wide awake' effect. Overall, I'd highly recommend it, especially for the price. It'd make the perfect holiday happy for a girlfriend or stocking stuffer!

Next up is the Photo Set Pressed Powder ($29) that I've been wearing in light. It gives a great, light finish and absorbs oil throughout the day. I went 16 hours without touch-ups, which is pretty much unheard of for me. But the best thing is that it isn't too yellow, a problem I always have with powders. My skin is super pale and pink rather than yellow based and powders from brands like NARS and BareMinerals for the most part look ridiculous on me, but this one blended perfectly and matched my skin-tone- Hallelujah! Give it a try, especially if you have problems finding a good pressed powder that will cover and blend easily and controls shine.
