on my face as of late

One glance at my skin routine, and you'll probably realize in an instant that I prefer serums and oils over heavy creams. The next four products, that I have nothing but good things to say about, fall into that category. Moisturizing- but light.

1) Kahina Giving Beauty's Argan Oil remains one of my favorites (you can read me blab all about it and the brand's awesome philanthropy here). It's not too heavy, doesn't have an offensive smell, and I love that it contains antioxidants to combat free radicals. Plus, you don't have to take my word for it, the whole line of KGB products has been approved by the editors at beautysage.com
2) Darphin Matifying Lotion is one product I can't rave enough about. I picked it up (along with the matifying cleanser) on a whim in a Paris drugstore when we there in March and fell in love. It absorbs like magic and is the perfect moisturizer for me. It's horrendously expensive to buy it here in the states (as far as I've found) but luckily, I've been able to get friends to pick it up for me on their travels. If anyone knows the best place to order it, please let me know! And if you get a chance to try it, I promise you won't regret it.
3) Josie Maran Argan Oil is another staple in my routine. I use this one primarily for my hair (and the KGB one for my skin- although I couldn't really tell you why) and the results are always great. It tames flyways, conceals split ends until I can get a trim, and does both without weighing down my hair. And the icing on the cake is that this particular bottle I'm currently using is a limited edition that benefitted Healthy Child Healthy World (helps to educate parents on how to protect children from harmful chemicals). Win-win!
4) Smashbox's Camera Ready BB Cream (in light) is the newest addition to this little crop of go-to's. I was intrigued by the idea of BB Cream and certainly not disappointed by this one. For me, it's great for the weekend when I want some light coverage and SPF but something a little heavier than my tinted moisturizer (right now I'm using NARS Pure Radiant).

Any BB Creams you've tried and would recommend? I've even some drugstore brands recently. Any winners?

  1. I love argan oil! I don't use that brand, but I use it for everything! It helps my nails, my hair, and my skin. And the brand I use smells super yummy!
